Mathematics is a vital subject within our educational system and is essential for the development of our nation as we strive to create world-class human resources capable of competing on a global scale.
At Mathletix, we share the pain and frustration that students often experience with challenging math problem sums. These problems can be so difficult that even adults sometimes find them puzzling. While you may believe that intensive drilling will help, the results often suggest otherwise.
The key to mastering these challenging word problems lies in a well-structured curriculum. At Mathletix, we break down complex word problems into bite-sized, manageable components, each with varying levels of difficulty, to build confidence and promote mastery.
We teach students to pinpoint the key attributes of a problem, enabling the effective use of appropriate methods. To further strengthen their conceptual understanding, our worksheets offer various versions of these key attributes.
Consider the following examples: These two questions may appear to contain different pieces of information, and most assessment books would classify them under distinct topics.
However, at Mathletix, we group them together since they share the same key attributes. Solutions as Attached.
With this systematic approach, students will no longer stare blankly at word problems, unsure of how to begin. Through practice, we are confident that our students will build their confidence, conquer math with ease, and ultimately find success in their lives.
We offer a variety of classes to meet different needs:
- Hybrid Group Class – For Primary 5 and Primary 6 students (participants can choose to attend onsite or online).
- One-to-One – For all Primary and Secondary school levels students
